What’s Happening at Bethany Beach: Memorial Day Weekend 2015

Bethany Bandstand

Memorial Day officially marks the start of summer for many, so to kick off the long weekend we’ve put together a list of a few of the activities & events happening right around the corner in Bethany Beach!

For the early risers, you can start your day off right with morning yoga by the beach. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings from 6am to 7am join instructors from Bethany Beach Yoga Center at the Bandstand for a $10 rise and shine yoga class.

With temperatures creeping up into the high 70’s you’ll probably be enjoying all of the sand and surf Bethany Beach has to offer during the day. Get in a few long strolls on the boardwalk but don’t forget to treat yourself to a ride on the Bethany Trolley. The trolley runs everyday from 9:30am to 10pm, and for $.25 cents a ride you can’t go wrong! Check out the schedule HERE.

If you need to get out of the sun, the Nature Center is consistently ranked one of the top things to do in Bethany. If you have children in your clan be sure to visit on Saturday for their Kids Nature Adventure Saturday program. Starting at 10:30am, the kids can participate in this week’s event featuring Water Quality Education while you enjoy the wetlands and cruise the Baldwin Nature Trail.

As for nightlife, the first of the Bandstand Summer Concert Series shows begin this weekend. All concerts are free of charge, open to the public, and begin at 7:30pm. You can catch classic hits from the U.S. Navy Cruisers on Saturday night and the full entertainment of the Mario Rocco Band oldies and variety show on Sunday night. So pack up a couple lawn chairs and head to the Bandstand! You can see highlights from last years Concert Series here: 2014 Concert Series Highlights.

To top off the weekend, the Town of Bethany Beach and the officers and members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7234 are hosting a Memorial Day Service on the boardwalk Bandstand Monday at 11am. Bethany Beach Mayor Jack Gordon will welcome the crowd followed by the presentation of the colors, music by local artist Jennifer Carter, and additional speakers who will pay tribute to all those who have served our country past and present.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever your plans may be.

Sincerely,
The Ocean View Beach Club Staff
